A bundle can appear available when its main item is in stock even though a required accessory has run out. Counting only completed-looking cartons can conceal that shortage.

Shopify's inventory guidance provides tools for tracking quantities and movements. The warehouse still needs a defined relationship between the bundle sold to the customer and the components required to complete it.

Calculate buildable stock by the limiting component

Use the approved bill of materials for the current offer. Subtract existing reservations and unavailable stock before calculating complete sets. Keep preassembled sets distinct from loose components so their contents are not counted twice.

For a kit requiring one organizer and two clips, usable balances of 80 organizers and 130 clips allow at most 65 complete kits before other constraints. If ten clips are then reserved for another authorized order, the remaining 120 clips support 60 kits. These quantities are hypothetical examples, not stock held by FulfillNexa.

Put assembly work into the model

Assume the 60 kits need four minutes of assembly each and US$0.35 of packaging per kit. At an illustrative $24/hour labor input, the budget is 60 × (4 ÷ 60 × $24 + $0.35) = $117. If five additional kits become possible after replenishment, their equivalent modeled assembly allowance is $9.75.

This calculation excludes the component purchase cost and all carriage. It should not be used as evidence of an actual assembly tariff or output rate.

Before releasing an assembly job, test the component scan and count for a sample kit. If a component runs short, ask the merchant whether to wait or change the offer through an approved revision. Do not let an operator substitute an accessory or reduce the contents because the storefront still shows the bundle as available.
