An FBA parcel is an inventory delivery

A small carton sent from China to an Amazon fulfillment center is not an ordinary customer parcel. It must match a valid inventory shipment, carry the required identifiers and arrive through a supported receiving arrangement. International clearance must be resolved before the delivery reaches the fulfillment center.

Start in the correct marketplace's current shipment workflow. Confirm the products, quantities, preparation requirements, destination allocation and delivery method there. A warehouse address copied from an earlier shipment is not authority to send the next carton to the same place.

Establish the importer before booking carriage

Amazon's international-inventory guidance states that Amazon and its fulfillment centers will not act as importer of record. The seller must arrange the responsible party and the required import work. Small size or low value does not remove that requirement.

Ask the broker or service provider to confirm the importer, required identifiers, customs authorization and payment arrangement for the destination. Distinguish the delivery address from the importer details. Do not name the fulfillment center as importer merely because it is the final physical destination.

Amazon also says it will not collect or pay the shipment's duties, taxes or transport charges. A parcel that requires the receiving center to pay on arrival is therefore a poor release plan. Have the responsible parties confirm how charges will be settled and how evidence of clearance will be available to the seller.

Make three identities agree

The inventory unit, the shipping box and the carrier parcel have different identifiers. The unit's applicable barcode identifies stock. The FBA box ID identifies that particular carton within the shipment. The carrier label identifies the transport piece. One does not replace the others.

Follow the current marketplace and SKU-specific unit barcode rules. Do not assume every product universally requires the same FNSKU treatment. The seller should approve the applicable preparation and labeling instructions before the China team prints a large batch.

For cartons, Amazon's box-label reminder explains unique FBA box IDs and placing both the FBA and carrier labels on a flat surface, with scannable barcodes. Its labeling guidance is useful; older policy references elsewhere in a discussion should not be treated as current customs law.

Freeze carton contents before printing final labels

Record each carton's SKU quantities, packed weight and external dimensions. Complete the shipment workflow using that configuration, then match the returned labels to the physical cartons. Do not photocopy one box ID across several boxes or use a label left over from another shipment.

If a carton is repacked, determine which records and labels need updating before release. A quantity correction made only in a spreadsheet will not fix a mismatch in the shipment record. Remove obsolete external labels without obscuring required current marks.

Use a second-person or scan-based check at dispatch. The check should connect the carton ID, actual contents, shipment ID and carrier number. Keep a photograph of the sealed carton and readable labels as shipment evidence, rather than relying on a photo of an unsealed sample box.

Verify that the chosen service can complete FBA delivery

Ask whether the quoted product supports the designated receiving method and address, including any booking or delivery conditions. An attractive consumer-parcel product may not provide the right commercial import handling or receiving support. A seller's previous successful delivery is useful experience, but not proof of eligibility for a different marketplace or service.

Amazon offers transport programmes for eligible routes. Its Seller Export and Delivery information provides a route to check current SEND availability through the seller workflow. Availability and terms must be confirmed for the actual origin and destination; the programme name does not make Amazon the importer.

Reconcile delivery with inventory receipt

A carrier delivery scan and Amazon's received inventory are separate milestones. Track both. If receiving shows a discrepancy, retain the shipment record, carton-content record, carrier evidence and dispatch photographs for the applicable investigation process.

Avoid releasing a duplicate replenishment solely because units have not appeared immediately after carrier delivery. First establish whether the issue is transport, receiving processing or a quantity mismatch. Clear carton identity and a complete import arrangement make that investigation much more productive.
